Bio / Background

HITCH_HIKERS

Francesco Guaiana - guitar, loops

Luca Lo Bianco - 5 strings bass, electronics

Jimmy Weinstein - drums

Formed in 2004 as a collective “art project”, the trio combines the diverse backgrounds of drummer, Jimmy Weinstein, bassist Luca Lo Bianco, and guitarist Francesco Guaiana. The trio proposes original music wherein the jazz matrix is melded into the experimental milieu of live electronics and exptemporaneous improv.

While challenging the delicate and always interesting theme of interplay, the group risks harmonically rocky and dissonant territory. There is never a specific “leader”, but an outlet where each member is free to propose ideas or submit to the flow of sound. Where at times the music grows exasporatingly hypnotic or even kaotic, the simplicity or efficiency of melody is never forgotten.

Musical visions envolved with freedom and fearless alchemy.
