Well-known blues guitarist and educator John Heussenstamm recorded this light, funky, and latin jazz album in 2000 - would be a great addition for vacation and traveling because of its rich, unpredictable, and soothing sound.
Bio / Background
Although people tend to think of John Heussenstamm exclusively as a searing blues guitarist and educator, he plays and has studied different styles of music throughout his career, such as: jazz, from be-bop to modern; classical guitar; gospel; blues; and funk.
The songs on this CD were recorded in the year 2000, and represent John's considerable musical talents applied to the jazz genre. Famous jazz guitarist Pierre Bensusan said in March, 2000,
"I met John Heussenstamm during my first visit to the USA, back in 1979. He was just returning from a trip to India where he had studied classical Indian with a master flute player. What struck me straight away was the elegance, amazing ease and maturity of his playing, combined to a rare depth and search for the absolute, a great curiosity and an open heart. I am delighted to hear all these qualities in his ... album 'Guitar Talkin' which shows a great control of expression and inventiveness.
↓ more ↓It's a treat and a rare occasion to hear this master musician at the peak of his art."
In addition to John on guitar, Lester McFarland plays bass, Dave Spurr drums, and Scott Phillips percussion. Look for more great music from John in the coming months.
