A hauntingly tranquil fury of indie/art/pop/post-grrl rock.
Bio / Background
"You don't have to spell it, you just have to listen up." Henkensiefken is a soft-angular, manic-depressive, apocalypse-fearing, love-critiquing, DIY-cherishing, pseudo-intellect rock outfit based out of Seattle, WA.
Jamie Henkensiefken (Switch, the Pleasure - Missoula, MT) plays the guitar, sings and writes the songs...a lot of them are about her, but she's trying to get better at not being so narcissistic. Rob Kruy (Lil'Puddin', Leanne Wilkins Band) and Rey Guajardo (Christ Analogue, the Sun Ups) hold down the proverbial fort on the bass and drums, respectively.
The Missoula Independent describes Henkensiefken as "lo-fi and engaging. Her voice is hauntingly pretty, and her guitar is roughly melodic."
Portland's Church of Girl Radio thinks that, "this is just the beginning for this diy cyclone of copious creativity"
How do you say it? HEN-ken-sief-ken.
