If our music were food, it would be a progressive Funk- Jazz- Jam- Rock- Latin- Blues-Fusion dinner platter, served with your choice of soup, salad, or potato.
Bio / Background
Fusion, Cross-Genre, Multi-Genre... Although rather vague, these are quite possibly the most accurate terms to describe the music of GypsyFoot. This Bismarck-based 7-piece group has not only a serious passion for creating music together, but also a common mission: "To unite people from all walks of life through Musical Diversity." Since forming in the fall of 2003, it has become increasingly apparent that this mission is succeeding. And by taking a look around at the crowd during one of their live performances, one would certainly have to agree. Combining elements of Jazz, Funk, Latin, Blues, Rock and Reggae with their penchant for spontaneous improvisation, GypsyFoot continues to defy 'marketability' in today's heavily genre-based music industry. Of course, they wouldn't have it any other way -- they're not looking for fame or fortune. They're simply content to make a living through the music they love to create.
GypsyFoot released their self-titled debut album in February of 2005.
↓ more ↓This 72 minute, 11-track album was recorded, mixed and produced at Makoche recording company out of Bismarck, ND, engineered by Jeff Deslauriers. Being regarded by many as one of the finest recording facilities in the nation, Makoche has done great justice by capturing the band's live energy, which is illustrated by songs such as "Get in the Groovemobile", a live-in-studio instrumental jam, as well as "Passing Phase", which features a collaborative percussion extravaganza with all 7 members participating. Several of the album's tracks are featured on garageband.com, a website dedicated to independent music since 1999. Songs such as "Passing Phase", "When She's Gone", and "Victoria's Waltz", have all won several awards on the site, as well as each being featured as 'track of the day' and 'track of the week' on the site's homepage. The success of the album and of GypsyFoot continues to grow exponentially with every concert they perform. Here are the ingredients:
Roger Neal Nordquist -- Percussion
Ira Charles Roberson -- Trap Set
Dillon James Marchus -- Basses, Didgeridoo
David Patrick Martel -- Voice, Guitar
Chad Richard Falcon -- Voice, Guitar
Nolyn Ricardo Falcon -- Guitar, Voice
Joseph Vincent McCauley -- Sax, Keys, Voice
GypsyFoot is more than just a band - it's also a way of living that facilitates a genuine feeling of community for those who choose to experience it. GypsyFoot will continue experimenting with new musical recipes until they find something they believe is good enough to serve to the world. Although their debut album marks an important cornerstone in their career, it must be said that if music is the higher power, then the stage is where they go to worship it. Please join them in their fellowship when you have the chance. In the meantime, check them out on the web:

This whole CD is wonderful. The music is exeptionaly good especially for how many years these guys have been playing together for. The atmosphere in a gypsyfoot concert is matched by few. Everyone of the guys loves there audience and the audience loves them right on back. It's a beautiful experience that won't be had for a year or two now, but will be 100x's better when they blast back onto the music scene here in the upper mid-west. Who says nothing good comes from North Dakota?
