Goldman's writing is unmistakably contemporary and elevates the group to the performance level of a big band through creative use of harmony and multiple moving lines in his arrangements. This is ambitious music, and the band pulls it off exceptionally well, starting, stopping, twisting, and turning through the often-complex time, tempo, and harmonic changes that abound in these charts. Hats off to Jason Goldman and this impressive initial recorded effort. Keep your eye on this talented writer, player, and gifted teacher.

Jason has performed with legendary jazz icons: Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Christian McBride, Terence Blanchard, Clark Terry, Jimmy Heath, Phil Woods, Jon Faddis, Bobby Watson, Kenny Barron, and Jim McNeely. Jason has also performed with producer/vocalist Paul Anka, Wayne Newton, Chris Isaak, Michael Feinstein, and Warner Bros./Reprise artists Reneé Olstead and Michael Buble. Jason has arranged for multi-Grammy winning producer David Foster, Michael Bublé, and American Idol contestant Clay Aiken.

Jason's arrangements are currently featured with Warner Bros/Reprise recording artist Michael Bublé, from which he has received a gold and platinum record. Several of his arrangements are featured on Michael Buble's Come Fly With Me DVD (released March 2004), selling over 500,000 copies.

Jason was recently named a winner of the 2005 ASCAP Foundation Young Jazz Composer Awards. He was also nominated for The Coca-Cola Company/NFAA's Distinguished Teachers in the Arts program in 2003, and the winner of the 2001 IAJE/ASCAP emerging artist commission honoring Dr. Billy Taylor, one of the most prestigious awards in the jazz composition field.
