World Jazz Fusion; a collection of compositions compositions that are influenced by music from all over the planet- and most usually sunny, bright, joyful and sometimes pensive and thoughtful.
Bio / Background
"GOLDEN MONKEYS" is the World Music Creature that created by multi-instrumentalist : Yusuke Yamamoto. His compositions are influenced by music from all over the planet. And most usually sunny, bright, joyful and sometimes pensive and thoughtful.
Taking inspiration from traditional musics from around the world, jazz, and modern classical music, Yusuke builds a musical identity for his band that is unique, and seems to speak to us at a deep level. Evident is an interest in Brazilian music, an interest in jazz structure and tonality, an interest in Gamelan and other traditional Asian musics, and an interest in the sculptural approach of modern classical composers. It is thinking music that feels good in your body.
"They've got a piece...that scurries along, momentarily managing a vital nexus between jazz and gamelan. Boss Yusuke Yamamoto wields pulse like a pro; his percussion-based, horn-colored pieces can be entrancing. "
