Experimental, complex harmonies of irish harp, acoustic and electric guitar brave lush layering of powerful vocal and instrumental progressive soundscapes, an evocation of the dark and light in our memories and dreams...like nothing else.
Bio / Background
Beautiful, evocative, searching for remembrances of where we've been and how we've lost our way. The songs of The Glass Hour, interwoven in delicate acoustic harmonies, and in the same moment, filled with powerful electric undertones, brings us one step closer to a musical understanding of the inherent contradictions of love and life. Haunting, highly charged female vocals span more extreme ranges from high to low, mirroring the subconscious tensions and ironies of opposing emotions and personalities within us all.
The Glass Hour formed in 2004 as the group sought to bring influences of
progressive rock and classical guitar to the underlying ambience of traditional folk harp melodies. The result is a new dance with "darkwave" as uniquely
curious and intensely expressive as ever. "Amaranthine" is the trio's first full length release. Check the band's site for news and upcoming performances in the Chicago area.
