Bio / Background
GEORGES CHATELAIN is one of France’s best known sound engineers and composers. He worked with such well-known international artists as Paul Simon, John Denver, Ralph McTell, Lee Hazlewood, Johnny Hallyday, Nana Mouskouri, Mick Jones (Foreigner), The Pentangles, the Jordanaires (Elvis Presley’s backup group), Joe Dassin, Françoise Hardy, Cano Caoli (Japanese artist), and appeared as an actor in France’s poet-film maker Jean Cocteau’s “ Le Testament d’Orphée”.
Georges also worked with celebrated French songwriter Jacques Revaux (of My Way fame) and Claude-Michel Schoenberg, composer of The Miserables and Miss Saigon.
Georges wrote words and music to a song which has, over the past 40 years become an evergreen in the Netherlands, “ De Clown,” with more than 40 cover versions including those by Ben Cramer, Franz Bauer, James Last, Ronnie, DJ Otzi, Pierre Kartner/Vader Abraham and Dario.
His new album is a blend of mood music, new age and music to dream by.
