Midwest funk and blues
Bio / Background
Flophouse: The Untold Story..... It all started 2 years ago at a Christmas Party for a music store we all worked at...we'll call it Cuitar Genter..anyway- 3 of us got up and jammed together for the first time-- and when we were done we knew we had to play together. So we immediately got a sweet local lead guitar player better known as Mike "Hollywood" Adkins. The youngest of the band but schooled on some funked out riffs and leads. Our vocals & rhythm are handled by Cleveland homeboy Victor Colon (Loud Love). Vic was raised in the Midwest with alot of early hip hop, rap, and soul influences. The bass is stroked by Paul "P-dog" Hunt (ManAlive), born and raised in Ypsilanti, MI. Paul was exposed to all kinds of different music with Detroit being the music mecca that it is and being so close. The drums beat in thanks to Brian "Super B" Smith (60 Second Crush, Vietnam Prom)- King of the Kick--A New Yorker who came to Michigan at 18 yrs old and has been drumming since the age of 12.
↓ more ↓Last, but certainly not least is Peter Keyz (Original Parliament Funkadelics), who is the newest addition to the band...but completes the funk phenomenon we call FlopHouse We wanted to make it a funk band. That meant ANYTHING funky. We've got style that ranges from Motown Soul to High-Energy Rock'n'Roll. With the perfect blend of covers and originals, Flophouse has enough matierial to jam for days. We're currently working in cooperation w/ 97.1 Free FM for the Detroit Lion's Home Games; as well as, writing and performing the theme song for WDFN's Sean Baligian Show and 97.1's Parker and the Man show. So that's who and what we are...A funk band from the Metro-Detroit area.. Take us or leave us.. Thanks for checking us out! -FlopHouse
