Melody-Driven Poet-Rock – East Coast meets West Coast meets Midwest
Bio / Background
Fighting Shy is the result of a collaboration between a
New Jersey-born bass player with a penchant for reggae and The Dead; a gum-chewing, Pearl Jam-loving northern Californian rock drummer; and a Midwestern singer-songwriter raised on the Beatles.
The Seattle trio plays melody-driven, song-oriented rock layered with well-placed harmonies, intelligent lyrics, and driving bass lines. Their eclectic sound is difficult to pigeonhole, but has been most adeptly described as “The Velvet Undergound meets Pedro the Lion with a surf twinge.”
“Tiny Horses” was recorded primarily in the Beacon Hill neighborhood of Seattle at Creamsicle Studios, the selfsame studio where Seattle-based outfit The Airresponsibles recorded their now infamous album “Where the Grass Grows Green and the Girls Run Free.
