Bio / Background
"thier album, let me tell you a story, has a beautiful reminisent sound of what it must have been like to see Ella Fitzgerald perform in her favorite piano bar....felina is unique in it's re-creation of history in music....already starlets in a grungy river town, the women of felina will be hard to miss being a shiny diamond in the rough of portland."
~just out - a class act by west duncan portland, OR 5/07
“Felina’s CD, Let Me Tell You A Story, is a breath of fresh air. It takes quite a bit of artistry to create something completely unique, and Felina has done it….The Vocals have a quirkiness that could be compared to Regina Spektor and Bjork…Suddarth’s voice had the control of an opera singer, the tenderness of a folk singer, and the unleashed power of a woman scorned…Just like their album, their live show will catch you by surprise at every turn.

-volcano weekly sound check-two worlds collide by Angela Jossy Olympia, WA 4/07
“imaginative treatment of standards by the duo Felina, including a darkly minimal "Good Morning, Heartache," was appropriate and charming in its unpolished enthusiasm.”
-Music review: Ain't nobody's business if they sing like Billie Tribute The Oregonian LYNN DARROCH 3/07
“The sultry twilight duo Felina performs sad, soulful, experimental and occasionally operatic songs.”
- Just Out, Portland, OR 11/06
“They are real Road Warriors, working hard on getting out a lot. Felina provides a spectacle for the audience, never without full costume.”
- The Argonaut, Moscow, ID 10/05
“Poeina Suddarth and Felicia Figueroa do a brand of quirky, engaging close harmony folk music.”
- San Antonio Express News, San Antonio, TX 6/04
“Rich smoky vocals, intricate lyrics, a damn good listen. Their music is original, synergistic and raw with a range like a postal service zip code.”
- The Boise Weekly, Boise, ID 8/03
Poeina and Felicia met on Broadway, in Seattle fall 2002. Felicia was traveling the country with her dog Tobin. She was singing on the sidewalk for money to leave town. Poeina was living in Seattle. She was singing on the same sidewalk for rent. Poeina walked by Felicia wearing a pink furry cowgirl hat, guitar in hand. Felicia asked Poeina to play her a song and joined in moments after hearing her sing and play. They both understood something magical had just happened so they put out a case and started playing together. From that moment on the two were inseparable and soon combined their names and love for music to form Felina. They have traveled coast to coast, south to north, east to west. they have played places from CBGB's Gallery in NYC, NY to the Orpheum theatre in Flagstaff, AZ, to the EMP in Seattle, WA.
After four years of touring Felina has settled down in Portland, OR to relax, fix the van, and promote thier recently released album "Let Me Tell You A Story". Poeina grew up singing in the Seattle Girls Choir and later moved on to do many House of Blues, Gorge Amitheatre shows such as two years Lilith Fair, Bob Dylan, GooGoo Dolls, Paul Simon, Garbage, Alanis Moressette, and more. Felicia Started playing professionally at the age of fourteen with her dad and brother. She later moved on to play many shows including Goddesses Get Down with fellow Arizonian, Michelle Branch.
