A globally aware culmination of poetry and rock music.
Bio / Background
Far From Shore's core band is made up of three guys that have remained friends since the days of their high school talent shows: Gandhar, Noah, and Richie. After spending time away at various universities, the boys found themselves back in Montreal and drawn back to the jam. These original sessions culminated in a three song demo that earned them a recording grant from the Government of Quebec. With Richie's new studio on the way (the now infamous Red Rhino Records), the boys recorded Wazo, a rock album that has received much criticial acclaim. After playing no more than five shows within the span of a year, Far From Shore quickly found themselves in the news: television, radio, internet, and newspapers, public interest driven by both the integrity of the music and the depth of its message. Gandhar and Noah have also appeared at a number of benefit events, their acoustic guitars in tow. The future beams down on these easy going lads.

"Brilliant, energetic and soulful."
--The Mirror
"You guys must be fallen angels, sent on this earth to soothe our fiery minds. If everyone took the time to listen to your enchanting sound, there would be no wars... I'm not religious or anything, and that did sound too cheesy for my taste... but still. I'm sure it would work."
--Ely Ghaffari, No Intro
"Great sound! It's refreshing to be able to hear all the instruments clearly rather than mashing them all into one coarse melody that's so popular today. Gandhar has a great voice... soft, but powerful."
--A. Hunter, Warrior Magazine
"Far From Shore crafts indie rock with more than a few hooks - proven by the very first track, 'Laced.' Noah pulls out some catchy guitar riffs.... there's listening potential here."
--Pete Nema Indie Music Reviews
"Great musical talent.... Lead vocalist Gandhar gels nicely with the accompanied sound.... With steady and creative drum tracks and the occasional guitar solo accompanied by brilliant lyrics these cats posses the ability to put on a show."
--Tiny Elvis, Indie Revue
"An energetic and honest effort that blends alternative rock influences with more worldly ones.... The frequent religious references in the lyrics stick out, but fear not, this isn't Christian rock; the music is far more concerned with politics than preaching.... beautiful. Gandhar's voice shifts from a narrative on 'Laced' to a meandering melody on 'Amané,' a genuinely heartfelt jam punctuated with what sounds like a gaggle of schoolchildren's voices.... the decision to use the viola on 'Tired Souls' was a good one. Keep an eye out for these Montreal rockers."
--Tracey Lindeman, The Link
"A great fusion of hard rocking riffs and deeply contemplative lyrics... very gorgeous stuff".
--Darren Hall, Poet/Writer
