Amy's obsession with music developed very early in childhood. At age 3, Amy would dance for hours in the basement to the groovy sounds of her parents' prized jazz album collection. Her very earliest musical memories include singing along to 70's radio hits and her big brother's K-Tel records. She began playing piano at age 5 which led to 11 years of formal classical training starting at age 7. At the age of 10, she began learning the saxophone and expressing herself through songwriting. Although her earliest influences stem from the 70's singer-songwriter period (i.e. Carole King), Amy's musical tastes are quite eclectic. This, no doubt, stems from her time spent living in France, working as a buyer in the music industry, and struggling with an amusing but time-consuming Internet addiction to all things musical.
Amy released her well-received first album, Cultivated Pearl, in 2002. These days you can find her working on her second album coming Fall 2007. Stay tuned!
