Undeniable catchy vocal/melody hooks with more abrasive garage-rock instumentation.
Bio / Background
formed in autumn 2000. eugene III vox/guitar, aaron seville-guitar, hutch pontiac-bass, joe fiero-drums. in a current computer-dependent world of studio recording, the etiquette is a bit of a throwback to an earlier time when pushing the VU meters in the red was a good thing. on their latest ep "Ages..." the quartet cranks the guitar amps to 10 loading the tape machine in eugene III studio autumn recordings.
blending undeniably catchy vocal/melody hooks with more garage rock instumentation, the group finds the median between the sweetness of classic power-pop and the bitterness and angst of punk. Singing in a forceful high strung style akin to Frank Black, Eugene III brings emotional weight to the vocal melodies while Seville chops through the buzz with cutting lead guitar counterpoint. The rythmn section of hutch and fiero keeps a strong foundation that is solid with a locked in groove that is impossible not to move to.
