Funky Hard Rock Combined With Elements Of Jazz, Reggae, Hip-Hop & Blues.
Bio / Background
"Upbeat funky rock that's guaranteed to get ya movin'". This is the phrase that most people would use to describe St. Louis, Missouri's Essence Of Logic. The group formed in November 2001. The band consisted of guitarist Dave Seithel, vocalist/guitarist Jeff Nations, bassist Dan Hunzeker, DJ-MAHF on turntables and drummer Adam Wiesehan. Composing songs that blended funk, rock, hip-hop, reggae and jazz, they hit the local scene in February 2002 and began quickly building a name for themselves. At the end of 2002, Brian Schaeffer was brought in to replace Wiesehan on the drums. From there they continued writing melodic upbeat songs with a funk edge and building up a reputable fan base through word of mouth and grassroots promotion. In 2003, E.O.L. released The Larry Elliot EP, a 3-song demo CD that helped them get their foot in the door at many of the Midwest’s finer venues and got their name and music on the radio.
↓ more ↓October 2004 saw the release of their debut full-length album entitled What’s The Story?. The album earned them even more radio play, slots on several compilations and a distribution deal with Blue Sky Distribution in St. Louis. Exactly a year later, the band decided to part ways with original bassist Dan Hunzeker in search of something more. They found that something in Drew Franklin, a St. Louis native who had had recent success with several local groups. It was a match made in heaven. Drew and the rest of the band hit it off immediately and began writing new material and brushing up on the old stuff. December 2005 saw the rebirth of the band. Having spent the subsequent months writing and practicing, they emerged a tighter, stronger and smarter band. The band has pulled out all the stops and are stopping at nothing to take their music, their dream, to the top.
