Bio / Background
Emerald Rose is a high energy Celtic folk rock band that blends harmony vocals, pennywhistle, world percussion and driving guitars and bass. Their music ranges from traditional jigs and reels to original folk rock and pop songs. Emerald Rose successfully draws from Celtic myth and legend to create a unique and accessible sound. As a group of full-time musicians, Emerald Rose is frequently touring in support of their CD catalog, including their latest "Fire in the Head-Emerald Rose Live."
With their self-title debut CD in 1998, Emerald Rose began a tradition of including a variety of songs and musical styles on their CDs ranging from traditional Celtic to hard-driving original folk rock to melodious ballads. Their critically acclaimed and aptly named "Bending Tradition" CD was released in 2000 and contains the mp3.com Spiritual Pop Chart sensation, "Freya Shakti.
