Bio / Background
What started as a simple songwriting deal over a year ago has now flourished into a group of four guys living out their dreams through a band called Emitter.
Formed in the spring of 2000 by lead singer Jason James, Emitter came together with the purpose of just showcasing great songwriting. James's dream began when he was offered a songwriting deal from a Nashville, TN independent music publisher. After hearing his style and talent, two independent producers, Reid Waltz and Jef Curtiss of blueWookie Productions, decided to take James and help create a new sound to showcase that talent.
In no time, James began the process of recording an album under a production deal with blueWookie. In search of making it a group effort, James called old friend and bass player Dave Schoon. Schoon who was playing in another band at the time, quickly left his home in Chicago to join James. After several weeks of recording, Schoon contacted former band mate guitarist Steve Van Der Griend.
