Debut EP by rocker groovestress, Emily Jones. Featuring her sultry, ethereal, and melodic voice (think melty, smooth-velvety chocolate), catchy & clever lyrics, yummy hard-rock guitars, and acoustic guitars. This is Chocolate Travel Rock.
Bio / Background
Hailing from the San Francisco Bay Area, now living in the Endless Mountains of northeastern Pennsylvania, I was raised on a healthy diet of Chicago-style rhythm and blues, classic rock, classical Composers, opera, bluegrass, metal, jazz... anything you can think of. Having a professional drummer for a father means that I learned early on that life is a series of rhythm and beats and we all have our own thang goin' on.
I've always been a singer and I've always written my own songs from the melodies swirling around in my head. I never had any idea I would eventually do something with that. It's like turning breathing into an art form, which is pretty damned cool.
It is my pleasure to share my debut EP with you!
Why "Chocolate Travel Rock?", you ask. I'll tell you!
It's what I call my music.
People often ask me what genre I play, or what my music sounds like. For any musician making their own music, that can sometimes be tricky to categorize your own work.
↓ more ↓Especially if your music is inspired by an array of differing genres! One day you could be writing rock, another day you might be swaying in your own bluesiness.
I call my music Chocolate Travel Rock because it describes my sound wonderfully.
When you hear my music you'll feel groovy, the velvet chocolatey-ness of my smooth-groove voice may rock your world, you'll feel like getting in your car, or in your jet plane, or spaceship and zooming away into the horizon.
Chocolate Travel Rock,
brought to you by yours truly.
This album was recorded in my own pro-tools studio, and then mixed and mastered at Black Dog Mastering in Florida.
Oasis did the manufacturing, featuring a vinyl-top CD that looks like an old-school 45, but plays in any CD player!
How sweet is that?

Emily
