Rich earthy country sound with a touch of southern gospel

ELMER CREEL
Elmer Creel hails from Bogalusa, a rural city in Louisiana. Growing up in the South has given him a lot of country and gospel flavor. He is inspired by some country greats like Alan Jackson, Meryl Haggard and Hank Williams Sr., but his all-time favorite country performer is Conway Twitty, of "Knock Your Socks Off" and "Hello Darlin'" fame.
Elmer has had the desire to sing in his heart from the time he was a young boy. He worked hard to cultivate his strong country sound, laced with a taste of gospel. Elmer's father was a Baptist preacher, who, along with his mother, encouraged him to go after his dream of becoming a country artist.
The title song of the CD, She Never Came Home, written by Marlena and Herschel Dwellingham Sr., sends a powerful message. The song addresses the fact that, for the first time, our women in the Armed Forces are sacrificing their lives for our country in significant numbers. Elmer is a family man with six children.
