Bio / Background
A South African - born and bred. He has been living in the States since 1987.
A huge fan of live music, Drew sites James Brown, Phish, Van Morrison, Karl Denson, Medeski Martin and Wood, Hal Maynard, and most recently Martin Sexton as being moving and motivational experiences.
With San Diego, Orange County, and Santa Barbara as his stomping grounds, he has been gathering a swell of west coast fans.
He has had the privilege of working with gifted people over the past few years. In former projects, he was joined by Karl Denson (Tiny Universe & Lenny Kravitz), Cochemea Gastelum (Robert Walter's 20th Congress), Aaron Redfield (Dance Floor Prophets) and others. This latest self produced record (that was tracked in his walk-in closet) features local L.A. drummer, Scott Boureston, along with Nic Rodriguez, and A.J. deGrasse.
Drew empties himself into his lyrics, which range in mood from existential and philosophical to autobiographical and emotional.
