Frank Aresti, former guitarist of Fates Warning, has collided the worlds of progressive and industrial metal with this innovative electronic release.
Bio / Background
Very rarely do you hear a piece and feel that it is something that is truly different, but that is exactly what you think the first time you hear Dragonspoon. Dragonspoon is the creation of Frank Aresti, former guitarist of Fates Warning. To generalize a bit, this release is best classified as industrial metal, but many tracks venture off into many directions, from verging on pure metal, to something you would hear at a rave, to dark, obscure pop, boundaries are not something that you will find here. Frank's guitar style is almost always evident, and fans of Fates Warning will find that Dragonspoon has definitely taken progressive metal into some uncharted waters. The guitar riffing, flowing leads, and the heavy guitar sound are definitely there for metal fans to enjoy.
Many tracks are heavier and have more of an edge than Fates Warning, and the vocal style is more straight-ahead and aggressive than Fates as well.
