An old jazz voice, contemporary poetry, heartbreaking vulnerability.
Bio / Background
Dora Magrath began to focus on her love for music just two years ago. Previously, this gifted singer, poet, composer, dancer, and choreographer focused solely on dance of all kinds, ranging from modern and ballet to tap and hip-hop. A personal goal of hers is to develop a style of dancing, singing, and playing piano (at the same time even!) that is outside the confines of the "diva" so prevalent in popular music. This singer/songwriter is deeply concerned with the problems of the world and has dabbled in activism. She is beginning to incorporate activism into her life and music, and is determined to do so without sounding preachy or being pigeon-holed into folk genres. (Look out in the next few months for sound bytes!)
Most of all, Dora lives for performing.
