Bio / Background
We are excited to introduce you to singer, songwriter and percussionist, Donna Kay. Born and raised on Ministikwan Lake, Saskatchewan and currently residing in Okotoks, Alberta, Donna’s musical style is a blend of traditional native and contemporary. She is a 2005 Canadian Aboriginal Music Award Nominee for Best Female Artist and Best Songwriter.
Donna’s latest release, The Journey, blends a wonderfully eclectic mix of aboriginal tradition, blues and rock, to form a unique, provocative cultural statement. Elements of myth, dance and drum combine with an honest, modern, pop-fuelled introspection that engages audiences in a unique multidimensional listening experience.
