Bio / Background
From one artist to the next, success stories have little to no variation. Boy meets microphone, childhood dreams manifest, and basement studios are built. Drive, motivation, and lint in their pockets are what their resources amount to. Not this version.
The persona that is essential to compete in the major leagues of the music industry comes naturally for an artist like Don Blas. Raised among solid family ties to both music and business, Don was prepared for a life of loyalty to entertainment at an early age. While Don’s grade school peers played sports and spent weekends at the arcade, Don was playing funky bass lines to the sounds of Sly Stone and perfecting his lyrical style. While his freshmen classmates spent time cheering athletes on at the homecoming game, Don was mixing and mastering what are now his underground classics.
Don Blas is a household name in his hometown of Denver, Colorado.
↓ more ↓And while Denver is not particularly a hot spot for artists, Don has taken the reigns of the next best opportunity the city has to offer: the tour circuit. Don has appeared on the same bill with artists such as Snoop Dogg, Ludacris, Ja Rule, Run DMC, The Wu Tang Clan, Nas, Lil’ Flip, Eminem, etc. from The Fox Theater in Boulder, to Fiddler’s Green Amphitheater. In addition to a first-class stage show, self-produced tracks, and sharp rhyming skills, Don produces tracks for other artists, radio stations, and athletic franchises in his private studio, The Hempshack.
With his first release, Capo Di Tutti Capi, Don Blas paved a path for Colorado artists on KS 107.5, Denver’s #1 radio station for Hip-Hop and R&B, while building a well-respected image for himself within the consumer audience. Regular spins on the airwaves created a chain reaction in Don’s young career. Capo Di Tutti Capi featured guest appearances by Suga T of ‘The Click’ and Dreddy Krueger of ‘Sons of Man’. Numerous SoundScan records of in-store sales in Colorado were broken with Capo Di Tutti Capi.
With the rails for success laid out, Blas released his sophomore album, The Modus. The album’s lead single, “My Cliney” feat. JadaKiss & Styles P. hit the clubs, stages, and airwaves with a massive response, and have appeared in many radio and club DJ’s Top 50 spins lists. This was the only logical follow-up to Don’s first album and boasted his all-around improvement by out-selling and breaking every sales record that his first album set.
As if that wasn’t enough, Don Blas along with the help of MOBSTYLE’s roster of artist and producers followed up The Modus with the release of “The UnderWorld Vol. 1”, a compilation of Denver’s best. The streets absorbed The UnderWorld and it became a must-have for all Hip-Hop enthusiasts.
Don’s un-paralleled work ethic and broad talents have expanded his fan base to the likes of Kroenke Sports & Ent. (owner of the Denver Nuggets), who sought out a license for the song “Get In The Game” (produced and written by Don Blas). The song was played after all Denver Nugget basketball games during the 2004-2005 season on the post game show, aired on the Altitude Sports Network.
Don’s upcoming project, “The UnderWorld Vol. 2”, including the lead club banger, ‘Kandy Paint’, promises to catapult Blas to superstardom.

good beats but needs something morewiccanway wrote on February 15, 2008
The album has some very good sound and some very good beats to it, you cant stop yourself on occasion from bobbin' that head, but it just needs something more. I cant put my finger on it but something is missing, maybe more lyrics or some hooks i dont know. What I do know is that the music has some great potential.
