dogmixer - coasting E.P
Coasting is the first E.P from the illustrious and eclectic work of dogmixer: an upbeat blend of atmospheric electro, an intriguing mixture of live instrumentation and trademark electronica. Coasting sets the standard; it conveys the belief and think of a cutting edge dance artist.
Coasting has recently had airplay on BBC Radio 1's Rob da Bank Show, plus plays on EI Radio and Freakin Radio.
It would be fair to say that Matt Watts aka "dogmixer" is more to the eye than just another London Electro laptop (Geek) artist.......the dogmixer's busy music reflects matt's complicated brain. The dogmixer, is something quite amusing: Matt, a pretty spaced out veggie animal loving hippy, a country boy beer drinker, recovering hedonist, uhmmmmmmmmmm, a bit absent minded..... Space cadet.....
↓ more ↓People think he's from a boy band (the worst comment being someone from S club 7) likes technology, grew up wanting to be a scientist, building parachutes and generating chemical explosions, but also used to love baking cakes..... Oh and he is also a self confessed "ESPER", who has received visitations and very often suffers from the "Cassandra complex".
The dogmixer now resides in London and has recently taken to the stage (armed with his trusty laptop) charming the crowds at a variety of venues across the U.K. At present, he is focusing on his next gig at Public Life, an event hosted by Replicant Society, an arts collective, which he founded together with Ed Ward (of Eggboy) and Lucio Cavallari(VJ Candalu). The concept behind the project is to stage alternative and unique audio/visual events. For further info visit www.replicantsociety.com. Future dogmixer gigs will include a complete live set in a soon to be announced club (check website for up and coming details). Dogmixer live will include guest musicians playing a variety of instruments,
Dogmixer is coming to the end of production of the Punk Ass E.P numero 2, ready late Autumn. Expectations can include a heavier and more dance floor orientated affair! A mix of techno, break beat, punk and D&B, still holding the dogmixer's special stamp. Album titled Information will be finished later this year. The album will return to the slightly more chilled style of the coasting E.P.
