A hybrid rock band reminiscent of Toad The Wet Sprocket, Live, and R.E.M.
Bio / Background
dimmer was formed in November of 2001 by Tony Weeks and Tom Rogers in the small southeastern town of Americus, GA. Both solo artists and natives of the area, Weeks and Rogers had known each other for years, but had never collaborated musically. Originally planned as a one song collaboration, the dimmer project quickly developed into the ideal musical situation for each. Roger's musical ideas and technical proficiency matched with Weeks personal and conversational lyrical style made songwriting easy and well rounded. The next step was to find a drummer who shared this same musical chemistry. Weeks and Rogers knew exactly who they wanted and found the perfect match in Derek Hall of the now defunct band Thousand Faces. Derek's skills were legendary in the area and his enthusiasm and love for music and the project was the last piece to the puzzle. dimmer was born. The recent addition of talented guitarist Shane Short has helped bring the dimmer sound to life on stage.
