Chicago's Best Kept Secret: Diana Rein. A guitar playing sizzlin' lady with a powerhouse voice that can belt out the funky blues, keep you wanting more with her rockin' growl and slide into your heart with her gripping ballads. All ORIGINAL music.
Bio / Background
Stevie Ray Vaughan, Bonnie Raitt, Buddy Guy, Eric Clapton, Sheryl Crow. All artists that influenced a young and impressionable Diana Rein. Although, Diana may have just been gravitating towards the music and style that was deeply rooted in her young soul.
It wasn't taught. It wasn't learned. It was simply there.
At the age of seven, Diana was the youngest person to grace the stage of the Back Room Blues in Chicago. Diana's heartfelt and uplifting blues improvisation brought the crowd to their feet. Ever since that night, Diana felt she had found her calling.
The songs on The Back Room span a guitar evolution for Diana, as the first song she wrote, amazingly only two years ago after picking up the guitar, was "Goodbye". A relationship gone awry was fuel for many relationship themed songs to come, including "Have I Gotten Over You". The hope for what was to come and the spaces in between love created "Will Love Ever Last". The anger brought on the spitfire "Take It Back".
↓ more ↓The hope became the very catchy "Till You Came Along" and the confidently delivered "You'll Be Mine". The title track "The Back Room" has a haunting, soul bearing vulnerability and "So Sexy" is a celebration of freedom and independence. Relationships come and go but the songs will live forever.
Diana's guitar sensibilities are wonderfully mature for someone who has been playing for such a short time. One would never know that she came to the instrument later than most. That comes from being unbelievably dedicated and never giving up her vision for her music. If you are looking for a manufactured artist, Diana is NOT the artist for you. No lip syncing allowed in her court. Being real, grounded, true to herself, her talent and her fans. What you see is what you get and she's a handful all on her own.
Her first solo album, "The Back Room", released by the independent label Rude Mood Records, is here to rock everyone's senses. The project has been a great achievment in her songwriting endeavors. Recorded at The Cave and Pulseblack Studios in Chicago, IL. Produced by Ted Wulfers, Mixed & Engineered by Van Christie and Ted Wulfers and Mastered by Dan Stout at Colossal Mastering. Diana Rein on vocals, electric and acoustic guitar. Ted Wulfers on bass, keyboards, electric guitar, percussion and dobro. Jeff Kelly on drums.
It's only going to get better..................
