Bio / Background

DIANA KARTHAS

Her voice has been called “beautiful and very engaging,” her lyrics “insightful,” and songs “a real achievement in melody and lyricism.” Bottom line: Diana Karthas is a first rate performing songwriter. The proof is in her debut CD entitled, “Step in to the Light,” an intelligent and addictive sounding mixture of rock and pop music.

Diana hails from an artistic family, her mother an artist and her father a skilled classical pianist. Encouraged by her parents, Diana began to hone her guitar skills at the tender age of five, when she began classical guitar lessons with a teacher who would become a lifelong friend and cherished mentor. Two years later, Diana began piano lessons under the tutelage of her kind and patient grandmother, herself a talented and accomplished pianist and violinist.
