Breaking the rules, drawing from various genres, rock band Deep Rising take you on a sonic journey through human emotion with songs that are powerful, sensitive, intelligent and moving. (STP meets Peter Gabriel)
Bio / Background
Radio is not ready for this band. Deep Rising started out as a recording experiment between Glenn (guitar) and Nick (vocals, keyboards). Each had a different style of writing, Glenn being a hard rocker and Nick being a bit dreamier. When they got together, the combination of their styles proved to be magical. Completely inspired by this, they began writing what would become their 1st CD, Time Spiral Soldiers and gave the project the name Deep Rising. Local NY radio station WBAB had a program called Homegrown where they play a song from a different local artist each weeknight. Deep Rising submitted their CD to WBAB and wound up as the featured artist on Homegrown for an unprecedented full week. They realized that they needed to turn the 2 man project into a full fledged rock band and sought out a drummer and bass player.
Once the band was together they did what came naturally: started writing material for their next CD.
