Punk/Goth like The Ramones and The Cramps had a baby.
Bio / Background
Death Party
Formed in 2004 and residing in Hollywood, the band consists of stunning starlet Juliet Long on Vocals and gyrating wall-of-scorch guitar, accompanied by down and dirty bass punch of Wylie Cable, backed by seasoned basher Ben Wah on drums.
While often being categorized as “death rock” or “punk”, the group obliterates the negatively attributed, hollow critique of cutesy- “Chick-rock”, by drawing collectively from a wide range of refined, yet primal influences including but not limited to: X, The Bags, Alley Cats, Christian Death, Saints, The Damned, Plasmatics, Destroy all Monsters, The Cramps, Flesheaters, Dils, Sex Gang Children, Boys, Sado Nation, Buzzcocks, and The Ramones.
They have released their debut 13 song LP entitled “Dooom!” on CD available now and you can also expect it soon on vinyl…

DEATH PARTY

It was Leonard’s 50th birthday! Who would have thought that this silly band of occasionally chemically-dependent miscreants would have lasted this long? Who would have thought the reclusive and (formerly) self-destructive frontman Leonard Graves-Phillips would live to see his 50th? Well, the band is still here, Leonard is still alive and kicking (in his trademark tights), and it was a kick-ass show from start to finish.
The name Death Party sounds like some goth thing, but in actuality, it’s a very fine three-piece punk thing from nearby Los Angeles, CA. Nothing like a woman with big boobs in a tight, “blood-stained” nurse’s outfit singing and playing guitar onstage to get everyone’s attention. The music was rather simplistic as far as the bass and guitar were concerned, but the drummer, Mr. Ben Wah really jams, and it is rather apparent he is functioning as the conductor from his recessed perch. Now, simplistic does NOT mean lame. Some of the best things in life are uncomplicated, and that is the energetic allure of Death Party. Basic power chords and simple, but rumbling bass lines on top of superior drum work make for a mighty fine rock creature that also has a sexy, and dark sense of humor. The sound often reminded me of old punk-new wave fusion, and the subject matter of many of the songs could have fit right into the soundtrack for the classic, all-puppet, stop-action masterpiece MAD MONSTER PARTY. Good music and big boobs too; what more could you ask? Peep this show at: www.myspace.com/deathpartyband.com

Death Party
From: Los Angeles, USA
Ghouly punk rock full of horror humor and tongue-in-cheek lyrics. Reminiscent of 45 Grave, The Bags, and othe Southern California punkrock. Fronted by the glamouros ghouls Juliet and Amy and the percussions of Ben Wah, the The Death Party live up to their name with punky zombie party anthems.
