The Dead Republic is an Australian Rock/Punk band that combines crunching guitars, soaring melodies and heavy grooves to create political yet catchy songs.

The Dead Republic are Sydney's rapidly rising neo-political punk band - compelling, hard working and genuine. Finally Australia has a band to unite behind, to get excited about and whose talent and enthusiasm is unquestionable. In a climate of tedious US frat boy rock, The Dead Republic has arrived to inject some much needed passion and creativity into a stagnant rock scene.
Fusing the rebellion and social awareness of early Rage Against The Machine, with soaring vocals, hooks drenched in melodies, thunderous riffs and sphincter loosening grooves - The Dead Republics' debut EP is simply explosive. Fresh from supporting the likes of Bodyjar, Sunk Loto, Cog, Fort and Daysend they will be touring nationally throughout 2005 in support of their debut EP.
The Dead Republic wants you to question everything and challenge the status quo. Their motivation is simple - to present a different perspective politically, socially and sonically.
↓ more ↓From the feverish live shows, to a whisper from a scream, from compelling lyrics, to the sheer self-belief and confidence they exude - The Dead Republic have arrived to revitalise the Australian live scene. So get informed, become aware, ask questions, and check them out as soon as you can. It won't be long, before The Dead Republic are everyones favourite band.
