Now the guitar is once again the primary weapon of choice for all hip young gunslingers, is there anything more that can be said about guitar, bass and drums?
The dead class, named after Tadeusz Kantors’ drama of the disaffected, take up the challenge of punk rocks latest chapter. Citing bands such as Nomeansno and Fugazi along with notables Iggy and the Stooges and the Ramones amongst their influences, the dead class are part of the itinerant ethnic punk revival that sees bands such as Flogging Molly or Gogol Bordello using their cultural diversity to produce exciting new energetic sounds.
The dead class are not an overtly political band, yet songs such as That All You Got, Trash Junkies and My Machine contain a savage irony that poses dark questions about modern living. The dead class are most definitely outsiders.
Matthew Cawe known as Villy, is the charismatic focus, playing guitar and singing.
