A hilarious, clever, non-traditional musical celebration of the Jewish festival of lights.
Bio / Background
David S. Polansky had to drag his kids out of bed so they wouldn’t miss the school bus.....wrote a song about it....was sensitive to the junk food crisis....wrote a song about it......was challenged to write an upbeat, funny song about breast cancer ????? Voila!!! The infamous “Get A Mammogram Tango".
Hannukah Tarantella came about when Polansky heard one too many Hannukah songs in the key of D minor. He flew into a creative rage and wrote this hilarious and informative award winner.
David’s songs are about life from a kid’s perspective and, while they often have serious messages, they never stop entertaining the listener. His Animal Alphabet Songs collection, which won an Artist’s Foundation Fellowship Award is at once funny, informative, and VERY musical in genre after genre.
↓ more ↓(It consists of 26 animal songs; a different one for every letter of the alphabet) The American Museum of Natural History has used it in its education courses and The Cousteau Society’s Theme Park incorporated a number of the songs into its exhibits. The songs appeal to adults as well as kids because the music and lyrics are not “juvenile”.
In concert, Polansky is a tower of boundless energy, somehow managing to play trumpet, keyboard, sing, dance, leap, and engage simultaneously. Audiences keep coming back for more.
