Bio / Background
This CD is a 2004 Parents' Choice Approved Award Winner and a 2005 NAPPA Honors award winner.
Bee Positive's original pop-folk arrangements provide danceable grooves with award-winning lyrics about subjects that excite kids and endear parents. Listeners buzz together during Bee Positive, meow with The Cat Song, and "spray" their way through Car Wash. Hall's active songs get listeners up and moving, and his clever lyricism puts a smile on even the straightest face.
Released in early 2004, the Bee Positive compact disc features Hall on guitar, harmonica, washboard, and vocals. Backing Hall are Jeremy Wegner (Sugarbeets) on mandolin and banjo, Mark Schneider (Don Latarski Trio) on bass, Asher Fulero (Surrounded by Ninjas) on keyboards and Hammond b-3 organ, and Matt Butler (Jambay and Everyone Orchestra) on percussion. Fiddle, sitar, and harmony vocals are featured on selected songs. The CD includes delightful animal illustrations by 91 year-old artist George "Grandpop" Rodenhausen.

Hall holds a Bachelor's Degree in psychology from the University of Colorado and a Master's Degree in Education from Portland State University, where he studied music theory, composition, and performance. David is former Director of the music department at the Grace Institute Summer Art Camp and is a registered Music Together teacher.
A native of Eugene, Oregon, David lives with his wife and daughter in Portland. "I love what I do," says David. "I get to play music with children, the greatest audience in the world!"
