Bio / Background
My name is Dave Roy and I was born and raised in Washington D.C. I started playing the guitar at the age of 12 years old. My dad had started me out with a few chords and I just took it from there. I discovered that I had something special when I would be able to here a piece of music and then play it the way it was on the record. I had a talent and gift of being able to do this. At the age of 17 I went on my first tour. A short time later I went on my first world tour. By the age of 20 I had already played with national artist such as The True Reflections of Atlantic Records, Millie Jackson, Rufus Thomas, Denise LaSalle, and soon The Wilson Pickett Band, played with members of Paliment Funkadelic. My first professional band was Point Blank whom I went on my first tour with and then 2000 A.D. with whom I went on the world tour with. I have shared the stage with many national artist like, The Commadores, The Drifters, BB King, Clarence Carter and many other secular artist.
