DD's TOE throws melodion, flute, trumpet, freedom horn and other devices into a folky-funky-jazzy pop smorgasbord, all kept at an accessible altitude by catchy melodies and crafty-yet-sincere lyrics.
Bio / Background
Based in Champaign, Illinois, Darrin Drda has been doing the singer songwriter thing for about 15 years. His earlier music tends to be more "out there" in the psychedelic stratosphere, his later stuff more "down here" on the rocky ground of love and politics. Formed in early 2003, the Theory of Everything represents a musical quantum leap forward, rounding out the space-folk sound with bass, drums, and an eclectic array of intruments such as melodion, flute, trumpet, sax, and flugle horn. Consistent throughout all of Darrin's recordings are his lyrics: thought-provoking, politically-charged, irreverent, heartfelt and humorous, sometimes all at once.
