Mysterious pulp fiction-esq atmospheres to retro jazzy funky feel and experimental mood but also trippy rock sounds with a mix of distorted guitars, percussions and 60's organ.
Bio / Background
My name is Dario Formica. I was born in Rome, Italy the year 1980.
I define my music as somewhere between garage-funk and trip-rock.
When I composed the music for these songs I was thinking of stories from my personal life experiences mixed with a little bit of imagination. For this reason, I decided to name this collection "A Million Stories". The following are some of my stories:
Back to the Land of Nowhere - I wake up one morning as usual, take my car and go to work. Suddenly I feel trapped in a tunnel from which I cannot escape and forced to go back to a place where I don't want to go, where everything disappears, a place that doesn't exist. I am back to the land of nowhere.
Desert Girl - I am lost in a desert with no food, no water, completely disoriented. The night comes down and I keep walking until I fall to the ground almost dead. A windstorm follows and from the clouds a girl that resembles a goddess comes down and casts a spell on me. I wake up listening to her song.
↓ more ↓The desert becomes a green garden with waterfalls and trees. We fall in love but then I realize I have to go because the spell will fade away in air soon. The scene moves to the ocean where I leave for a distant land with a boat. As the boat moves on, we both look at each other longingly to say goodbye.
The Spell - Part of Desert Girl.
Jungle Boy - Is a dialogue between me and the projection of me in a distant galaxy. In this distant galaxy I live in the jungle and play dangerous games. I ask my other self "why?" and he replies "Now you want to know the truth". Sometimes it's better not to know the answer to a question you might ask yourself and leave space to imagination
The Chase - When writing this song, I was thinking of a chase scene from a 70's action movie like Shaft, Starsky and Hutch or Bruce Lee.
Hypnotic Dance - In a far away country, I participate in a ritual of the snake dance. Along with the snake, a girl with dark eyes is dancing and staring at me. After seducing me, I remain completely hypnotized by her.
Time In Transit - There is no beginning and no end, the end is a new beginning. Time can be a circle or a straight line. May apocalypse come, time will always be in transit.
