Bio / Background
One of the most intriguing facets of Danny Allen's music is his ability to create an alternate universe - a rabbit hole into which he beckons the listener to follow him down. The first track is a lazy summer afternoon replete with layers of luscious slide guitar and punctuated by lyrics painted in Technicolor brilliance. The street lights are buzzin' like horseflies in summer. The gutters are teaming with aqua squirrels that are breeching...Rope swings and tires, vultures on wire...Howdy. As the metaphors compound, we begin to see the magical dawning of a new day, or perhaps a new world order? Before you know it you're swimming in a stream of half consciousness. As the track ends, you hit the back button just to make sure. Ahhh. Nice. Makes you wonder if you're not seeing this world as you should--either way, things definitely seem more interesting through the eyes of Mr. Allen.
