Bio / Background
rooted dreaming countryblues and soul by this poet, storyteller, guitar pickin' harvard drop-out, drunk-addict philosopher, dan king has been kicking around gloucester, mass. historic artist/music scene for years, leaving only to play the odd gig in new york, l.a., san francisco...a certified hermit, he doesn't go out on the road much, unless it's whoopi goldberg's birthday and he's sharing the stage with robin williams, playing for bob deniro and the mayor of new york...or the biltmore in los angeles for the indie music awards after party, or better even being filmed by the bbc with artist jon sarkin for discovery channel/bbc4 docs on art and the brain.. not very record label friendly, he's carved out a small fan base of the highly critical artist/musicians sect.. rarely doing full shows of originals, he prefers jamming with the best of the best on the spot, going over his favorite influences and songs he loves, rockin' his local pub, leaving most original material for the studio.
