Dana Leong debut album brings the cello and the trombone in to new zones combinding his influences in Music of the Cinema with R&B and hip urban grooves. His Quintet features Cello/Trombone, Violin, Viola, Groovy Organ, and Drums.
Bio / Background
It is a rare occurrence when one person is equally successful in two completely different arenas.
Dana Leong is remarkably active as both a renowned cellist and a powerful and articulate trombonist. Having learned both instruments at an early age under the tutelage of his mother Sumi Nagasawa, Leong now resides in New York City. Mr. Leong has recently completed his debut album entitled "Leaving New York, which features his original compositions, and guest appearances by Christian McBride, and 8x Grammy winning clarinetist Paquito D'Rivera.
The Chicago Tribune Says -
"Dana Leong crafts (cello / trombone) lines of sublime lyric content."
All About Jazz Magazine mentions Dana Leong -
"Top 10 Performances of the Year in New York City"
