Bio / Background
DAEMOS is spreading out to the world with their new multi-part album. ‘Surface’ marks the first of four 3-song EPs to be released in 2007. Through the web and expanding shows, a loyal fan base is increasingly discovering this new music. With innovations such as three voiced guitars (bass, baritone and standard) and harmonized screams, DAEMOS is taking metal in a new direction.
The word has not only spread from highly-anticipated Daemos shows, such as opening for Judas Priest at the L.A. House of Blues and Testament at the famed Whisky A Go-Go, but also by their unrelenting flyering campaigns. This has led to sharing the stage with many others: Strapping Young Lad, In Flames, Death, Manowar, The Haunted, Nevermore, Iced Earth, Amorphis, Morbid Angel, and Six Feet Under. And they have forged their own path with countless regional tours up and down the California coast as well as into Arizona, Texas and Nevada.
↓ more ↓Bassist, Matan Chaffee, joins drummer, Kevin Wood as the beating heart of the DAEMOS rhythm section. Many of the new songs feature the bass as one of three guitar voices along with Victor Baddour and Eric Nunes. All three lend their voice to the music with screams and harmonies, with the majority of the load by Victor.
With the release of their new EP, ‘Surface’, the band's presence on MySpace has exploded. With more fans adding every day, the total has passed 25,000 and continues to rise at an astonishing rate of 2000 friends per week. Here and on the official DAEMOS website are several video blogs following the creation of ‘Surface’ and beyond.
In August DAEMOS will begin a full U.S. tour.
