Stripped to the essentials and relying on an acoustic guitar, minimal percussion, vocals and harmonies, this album blends equal parts of classic rock, pop, country and folk.
Bio / Background
Crystal Brandt is rock n' roll that's south of folk and north of country. Originally from Maryland, she was raised on Elvis, heavy 70's country and classic rawk until she was old enough to change the dial. Her self-taught guitar sound comes from years of chord roulette and a genuine interest in the varieties of music.
She started performing bar bands in southern Maryland, eventually moving to DC to find other musicians and play her own music. In May of 2000 she broke up the band and moved to New York City, where she now resides.
Crystal's self-produced debut album, 'Fixing to Break' is available on Sisterluk Records. These songs are determined and hopeful, even when it sounds like she doesn't want to be.
