Coersion: Rock and Roll for the modern world.
Bio / Background
Coersion is one of the fastest rising young talents in the Central New York music scene. They got their start in 2001 when Nick Visalli and his cousin, Ken Visalli, started to jam together. Their initial jam sessions went so well that they decided to start a serious band. They tried out a multitude of different singers and bass players, and eventually settled on two of their friends from school. After the lineup was set, they wrote a fresh batch of songs and recorded a demo, which was widely acclaimed by many respected names in the local music scene... all of this happening before any of them were old enough to drive.
That lineup eventually proved unsuitable though, and Nick and Ken were again on the offensive, looking for another singer and bass player. In late 2002, their friend Kevin Sullivan put them in touch with a young singer looking for a band. Sam Famolaro joined the band right at the end of 2002 and instantly clicked with the guys.
↓ more ↓In early 2003, after Coersion's original bassist left the band, Kevin Sullivan joined the band as a temporary bass player and hasn't left yet.
Since then Coersion has recorded a handful of demos and a full length studio album. Along with playing many venues all over the Northeast, Coersion has had songs get air-play on radio stations such as WOUR in Utica, NY and internet radio station WDYN in Rochester, NY. Everywhere the band has played they have received rave reviews and have been asked back at every venue that has been cool enough to let them play there. With their debut album set to be released in the very near future, the future looks very bright for Coersion. They have accomplished much in less than two years as a band with plenty more to go since no one in the band is over the age of 20.
