quirky indie rock with a dose of ascerbic wit
Bio / Background
Recorded in the hottest summer on
record in a studio on the unventilated top
floor of a warehouse in July and August,
the kind of tense and sweaty frustration
born of semi-consciousness and beer is
channeled into these 9 tracks of quirky
rock.
It can arguably be stated that no
one is really doing the kind of music
Chrash are on Audio Feng Shui. Part
chug, part stop/start, all melody and
twisted insight. Reminiscent of Wire's
early works, but with the kind of easy flow
of early REM, the three (sometimes four)
members of Chrash have pulled
something out of the air here, something
at first listen that is compelling and
unique, if you come from the vein of
listener that seeks a challenge and looks
deeply into the art of pop.
