This music is the soul giving goodness of what sound is. It's mellow sweet and smooth to the ear. Not Neo-soul just from the heart.
Bio / Background
Some have many things to say about themselves and that's okay. Some come from some type of musical background, along with living in poverty, being neglected and misunderstood, Ceci suffered it all. Of course the church is where she first began to sing and learn of music. Ceci's been singing since she was three.
Ceci didn't sing in any other choir outside church or her mirror for that matter until her senior year of high school. The choir director, Ms. Hunter could tell that she could sing during a conversation she had had with her, just by the tone of her voice. She signed up for choir all three years before that one conversation. But until then Ceci was never picked to sing in the choir.
Now one conversation got her a solo spot for a predominately white school for their new show choir in the year of 1999. Ceci has many people who she loves and admires musically such as Whitney Houston, Gladys Knight, Betty Wright, Sade, Maze, Lauryn Hill, Eric Bennett, Maxwell and many others.
↓ more ↓Ceci's grandmother raised her and would love to play on her piano after church and teach her to sing in the correct key. That way on Sunday morning's Ceci would be ready to sing in front of the congregation. Unfortunately her "piano bird" of a grandmother was laid to rest the last semester of her senior year in highschool.
Ceci believed in her heart that the world would soon know that a star lived inside her. She began to venture out by age 19 to pursue the entertainment business. She attended KD Studio Conservatory of the Southwest in 2001 where she recieved an applied arts degree. While at KD she learned that her powerful voice would once again get her many lead roles in the college's choir.
There Ceci promised the piano player that she wouldn't waist her gift of song. Her new passion "now" is to take it down a notch so that the world can understand her purpose in music. Motivation is in all her lyrics. And depending on what's in it will determine what drives the people.
Ceci wants to share her new foundation of love and life through song. She's developed and wrote several songs since 1996 and has one place and one song she wants the world to listen to and fall in love with music all over again. The same way she did.
