hip-hop attack with a dirty rock edge..
Bio / Background
CAYERIO
“It’s More than a Sound, It’s a Movement”
Since the release of his debut album Living Water, Cayerio's sound has evolved into a hip hop and rock hybrid that he likes to call "hip rock fusion". Still true to his hip-hop roots, Cayerio blends rocksteady drums and bass lines with razor sharp guitar riffs and hot keys. The transition came after Cayerio recruited DJ/ sound engineer Kirk Smith who added players he found around Memphis, TN, including bassist Ben Cumming (AKA The English). Together they renovated Cayerio’s sophomore release “The Dirty South Detergent”, which added a dirty rock edge to an already explosive hip-hop attack. Throughout the band’s metamorphosis, Cayerio’s ethos has remained intact. “I’m motivated to create music that’s not only spiritually fulfilling, but also socially and culturally beneficial to people as a whole. The message is an aggressive lyrical communication to popular culture.
