Bio / Background
“Los calvos” caribbean jazz trio portraits a unique musical style. This group merge jazz improvisations with dazzling latin rithms. The group’s new musical proposal “Post factum” from the latin “post” meaning ‘after’ and “factum” in ‘contrast with what been said’, highlights the ideas, musical form, image and representation of this musical proposal. The experiences and characteristics of musicians from Puerto Rico blending theirs ideas and producing a work of excellence. The word fusion, meaning the action or effect of merging ideas and it manifestation of “energy” or the capacity to realize work by the medium utilized. Then, the music of “Los Calvos” portraits the melting of three races; taino, european and african, the european romance, the aboriginal celebration and the African rhythm. The close relation between the XIX century romantic style of the Danza and the Jazz created in the beginning of the XX century.
