Bio / Background
Howard Britz, Bassist & Composer whos working & recording credits include such diverse artists as Jazz scat vocalist legends Jon Hendricks & Annie Ross, Latin Jazz Piano stylist Danilo Perez & Tenor Saxophone virtuoso Jacques Swartz-Bart now puts it all together on his debut release 'The Future, The Past'.
Mixing all the elements of his diverse musical experience in Jazz, Latin & Brazilian music he weaves together a set of six great new songs & one standard.
This recording features the talents of some of Jazz's brightest lights with Jon Swana (trumpet) Uri Caine (Piano) Byron Landham (Drums) & of course Howard Britz on Double Bass.
On this CD you get the chance to hear two sides of the groups personality.
Half of the album was recorded in a studio, the other half is a live recording at Ortliebs Jazz Club in Philadelphia.
This recording is about bringing together old, new - Jazz, Latin - The Future, The Past, as long as it's swinging and it's soulful.
