Once again this Brooklyn trio has produced a collection of songs that will knock your argyle or metal studded socks off, whether you're heartbroken, a heartbreaker, a space explorer, or a kid with a snowball in your hand.
Bio / Background
For Brooklyn band Breaking Laces, the year since their last album, Lemonade, hit the stands has been full of it - full of playing, growing legions of fans, recording and touring - from the Mississippi River to the UK.. The Laces have further refined their own sound and bring their latest piece of audio cake, "Astronomy is my life, but i love you", to the table.
Breaking Laces is an indie trio straight out of Brooklyn whose songs range from straight up rock to heart-on-their-sleeve acoustic numbers. Their work has been compared to artists ranging from Ben Folds, to Weezer, to Violent Femmes. They produce a full yet distinctive sound that is surprisingly large for a 3-piece. Breaking Laces consists of Willem Hartong, lead singer and guitarist, Rob Chojnacki on backing vocals, bass and keyboards, and Seth Masarsky on drums and sampling.
The Astronomy EP marks a new level of maturity for this young band: their first self-produced album that is entirely their sound and their vision.
↓ more ↓It was recorded in Masarsky's underground lair (basement). But with mixing and mastering done by the best of the best in Sony Studios in NYC, Astronomy blazes new trails for these Brooklyn boys.
