Bearing considerable vocal resemblance to John Lennon, Harris crafts moody country-rock with a hard pop edge...Strongly melodic with a confident wit, he combines well-traveled themes with stoic romanticism.- - -Matt Fink, All Music Guide
Editorial review
Sounding equal parts Tom Petty and John Lennon, with a lot of country twang mixed in, Brady Harris has perfected a brand of roots rock that is pleasantly out of step with most of his contemporaries in the alternative country scene. Harris is an impressively polished songwriter, boasting big melodies sunk in dark chord changes, delivered with a versatile voice that frequently seems at its breaking point. As much as tracks like "Fading" call to mind the more brooding quality of early Lennon solo recordings, Harris just as easily slips into barroom country in the comical "Anthrax Blues" and "Drunk With You." The absolutely gorgeous folk-pop of "I'll Miss These Days," employing strings and utterly sweet chord progressions, is highly indicative of the range of influences Harris produces as a songwriter, as he possesses an eclecticism similar to that of Jeff Tweedy. All in all, these songs have outstanding staying power, as Harris' substantial talents lift him well above those with whom he will be categorized. ~ Matt Fink, All Music Guide

Official bio from All Music Guide (www.allmusic.com):
Former frontman for the Replacements-inspired Solid Goldsteins, Brady Harris' solo career has diverged from his previous work into a sound altogether more indicative of his Texas roots. Bearing considerable vocal resemblance to John Lennon, Harris crafts moody country-rock with a hard pop edge. Strongly melodic with a confident wit, he combines well-traveled themes with stoic romanticism. Having paid his dues as a starving artist, busking on the streets of Paris and London, Harris found himself in Los Angeles recording one album with his former bandmates before releasing his solo debut in 1997. That album, Next Door to Nowhere, received favorable reviews and was followed by considerable media attention at 1999's NXNW music conference. Good Luck Stranger (2000) was met with near unanimous critical approval, and Harris went on to tour Europe in late 2000. -- Matt Fink
